Mark 4:35–41 · Fictional learning example, not a member entry.
Passage and context
Mark 4:35–41. Jesus has been teaching in parables; he and the disciples cross the lake. The next scene continues to show his authority in a different setting.
What I notice
Jesus is asleep during the storm (v. 38). The disciples ask whether he cares. He commands the wind and sea (v. 39). Their final question is about his identity (v. 41).
What I understand
The scene reveals Jesus’ authority and exposes the disciples’ fear and limited understanding. It does not promise that every danger in my life will disappear immediately.
Question and response
How does the disciples’ question connect to the next scenes? I will read on. Today I can bring my fear honestly to Jesus without making the outcome a test of whether he cares.
Prayer
Jesus, help me see who you are. I am afraid of what I cannot control. Teach me to trust you and to act with wisdom today.
